An Amsterdam-style coffee shop is now open to serve cannabis to customers in Waterford.
Blooms Cafe offers cannabis with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) levels below the legal limit of 0.2 percent. However, the cannabis strains has high cannabidiol (CBD) content — up to 18 percent — for stress relief and relaxation.
According to Blooms Cafe’s owners, aside from the packets of low-THC, high-CBD herbal cannabis infusion sealed by staff, they also have organic coffee and vegan desserts on the menu. Currently, the cafe offers four different strains of pot and the owners have promised that would continuously add new strains to their menu. They are also planning to add CBD edibles.
Smoking the herbal infusions in the cafe is not allowed, but the customers can add cannabis to any of the coffee varieties they order.
The cafe also runs an online shop, so customers can get cannabis without having to set foot in the store.
In their social media platforms, Blooms Cafe state that they specialize in high-quality coffee and cannabis. They also explain that high CBD strains are perfect for people who want a calming and relaxing experience but not the mind-altering effects and not the high that THC creates.
The cafe further points out that CBD does not increase heart rate, does not impair mental function, and is non-toxic. CBD has proven to be non-addictive and to be natural to the body, as well as to every climate.
They have a disclaimer, though. They clarify that they are not medical professionals and that they do not make health claims regarding their products. They also encourage people with underlying health conditions to consult their doctor.
