Ipswich now has its own members-only cannabis lounge. The exclusive pot lounge on Eagle Street offers legal cannabis-derived products and a place where users can talk about their cannabis needs in a safe environment.
The Ipswich Cannabis Lounge is co-owned by Darryl Noe, who also operates a cannabis club in the town.
According to Noe, the lounge is a new concept, where its members can use the drug recreationally. The money that the lounge generates from its shop is going to fund the “medicinal side” of the business, he explained.
The lounge now has almost 200 members. The business focuses on the legal CBD-based drug, which does not create a high for users and does not cause addiction.
Noe said that members of the lounge can vape CBD-based cannabis but cannot smoke it.
Moreover, he said that the use of cannabis is “commonplace.” Unfortunately, the only place where you can get cannabis is the streets and it is not exactly the safest of options.
Noe said that with the lounge, they can help point people in the right direction, especially when it comes to advice and research. According to him, they are trying to help people who use cannabis for medical purposes, since right now, there is no other help available out there for them.
In terms of law enforcement and security, a Suffolk Police spokeswoman said that the force is going to closely monitor the situation at the lounge. She confirmed that an officer had visited the lounge to discuss the business concept with the owners.
The BBC report says that the UK currently has more than 70 cannabis clubs.
