Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will be hosting a cannabis-themed music festival on his ranch in California this year. The event is slated for February 23.
This music festival, according to Tyson, will celebrate cannabis as a legalized recreational substance. It will be a one-day pop-up mini festival that will take place at the future site of his Tyson Ranch Resort.
Tyson Ranch is a 40-acre property in California City, a town in southern California. In January 2018, Tyson announced that he intends to take advantage of the state’s legalization of recreational pot and will allot 20 acres of his ranch for “master growers” to have complete control of the environment.
Tyson Ranch will include a luxury glamping resort complete with camping areas and cabins, an entertainment complex, and a cannabis research and design facility. The resort will also feature an amphitheater, bars, inflatable rides, and mazes.
Meanwhile, the cannabis facility will cultivate different strains of cannabis, which is already fully legal in the state of California. Tyson also plans to build his own school, called the Tyson Cultivation School, where farmers can learn how to grow and develop cannabis strains. Tyson Ranch is also the brand name for the cannabis products grown on the site.
For the music festival, the boxing legend has planned a “Hang Out Village,” where pot lovers can congregate and socialize. Unfortunately, state laws do not allow pot to be sold at the event.
The music festival claims to be the first event of its kind to celebrate the state’s tolerant cannabis policies. It also seems to be aimed at creating a permanent fixture.
