Aurora Cannabis is launching a national competition for budtenders. The search for Canada’s Top Budmaster will recognize marijuana professionals across the country who expertly guide and educate consumers as they navigate the new world of legal cannabis.
Canada’s budtender community will be able to showcase their expertise in product categories and formats, and in cultivar characteristics and histories, as well as demonstrate exceptional customer service through a series of knowledge-testing and skills-based events and digital competitions.
Aurora Cannabis says that it is time to give recognition to the men and women who serve as the frontliners in cannabis dispensaries and retail stores, helping break the stigma and expanding the cannabis community by helping more individuals learn more about the drug, its properties, and how it can responsibly fit into their lives.
According to Aurora CEO Terry Booth, the company applauds the work of budtenders who are educating Canadians on cannabis and helping grow a strong and enduring future for the cannabis movement.
How Canadian budtenders can join the search
All professional budtenders currently employed by a licensed cannabis retail store are invited to join the competition. Those who think they have what it takes to become Canada’s Top Budmaster can register with Aurora Pro here. Aurora Pro is Aurora’s new digital budtender community, which will help Canadian budtenders connect with each other, learn about new cannabis brands and products, upgrade their skills and knowledge, and advance their career in the industry.
Budtenders who are interested to join must register before June 1, 2019. Canada’s Top Budmaster Competition will end on October 17, 2019, the first anniversary of cannabis legalization in the country. Aurora will present the award to the winning finalist on this day.
